why teach

Why would you want to teach yourself guitar? Especially in this economy where everyone is having trouble scraping a nickel?
That's a great question! In fact, I've even why teach wondered about that myself. Then I saw something when I was visiting a toy store looking for presents. I saw guitars in various sizes for less than $200. Acoustic Guitars. Electric guitars. Even bass guitars! And they even had them in different sizes. Some that would be great for younger children and some that would fit adults.
Now, granted, these guitars might not be the best in the world. But for a beginner, just getting start? This would be great! So the cost of the instrument is less than quite a number of other instruments. Compare that to the cost of a piano or a saxophone.
But what about lessons? Why teach yourself guitar?
Traditional lessons cost a lot of money. But for less than the cost of a month of lessons, you can find entire courses online. This makes learning from an online course a much better alternative if money is tight.
Not only that, but what is convenient for the instructor might not always be convenient for the one being taught. One of the great things about online lessons is that you can do them when you want, where you want. So if you are at home at 2 in the morning, you can take a lesson. If you're on vacation at 4 in the afternoon and have internet access, you can take a lesson. You can repeat lessons if you think you missed something. And you get to learn at your pace, not some pace dictated by someone else.
